Amazon Issues Urgent Notice: EUDR Compliance Countdown - Seven Product Categories Face Sales Ban Risk
November 19, 2023 - Amazon has issued an urgent compliance notice requiring sellers of seven specific product categories (wood products, natural rubber, and products containing materials such as soybeans, palm oil, beef, cocoa, coffee, and timber) to immediately comply with the European Union's Anti-Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), or face a sales ban. The regulation requires large and medium-sized enterprises to achieve compliance by December 30, 2025, and micro and small enterprises by June 30, 2026. Non-compliant companies may face fines of up to 4% of their annual turnover, product confiscation, market bans, and accountability for senior management. Sellers must complete EU TRACES registration in November, prepare a Due Diligence Statement (DDS) including the source of raw materials, coordinates of origin, and proof of compliance between mid-November and mid-December, and submit the declaration by mid-December.
